Stroke II
The lights dimmed in the deep lobes where I made
my suffering. The neuronal box where I
filed my resentments was mislaid;
the bureau of the self seemed to subside;
my mind expanded into a dancing hall
where randy angels unpack their instruments
and tune, the archangel taps and all
are poised for the cha-cha to commence.
Recovery from a stroke takes two years
or more, if at all. But mine was mild
and now, after fourteen months, it appears
I’m back to my normal life and reconciled
to the step by step of the day by day.
I’m back! The angels packed up and went away.

"to the step by step of the day by day"—nice
Thank you!
